Niecy’s Nuggets is my passion project where I can be my authentic self, tell stories about my life, share thoughts, advice, and opinions.

This blog came from my love of writing which I discovered in high school. I realized this passion when I was given a journal by my favorite high school teacher after my mother passed away my Senior year. Once I started writing in the journal, I felt free. I felt heard. I felt validated. Nobody was reading these journals but just being able to get my feelings out, made me feel alive. It was in the writing that I could be my true authentic self. What I couldn’t say with my voice, I could say in words, and it sparked something in me. I found my purpose.

While reading my entries, you will have no doubt where I stand on issues and my feelings about certain things. I will probably make you and my past English teachers cringe with my writing because it won’t be proper English. I’ve been told I write like I talk. I’m good with that because it’s relatable. I don’t want to be a scholar here. I want to be real.
